this is NOT a new slutet album. Slutet is dead and buried for good, 2013-2019 – the obituary still stands. this is, however, a recently unearthed, alternative version of Slutet’s only LP “Love & Beauty”. i found this in the obscure deep folders of my old computer, which i thought didn’t work anymore. apparently this version has been made and has been saved at some point in time, i guess autumn-winter 2019-20 in the midst of drug hazes.i can’t remember at all. literally did not know this even existed. buried deep in the hard drive depths.
it is the same album, but with slightly different sound, mixing and presentation (with an obnoxiously loud snare). the vast majority of all noise/samplings/ambiance/interludes found on the LP are omitted on this version it is more direct and focuses completely on the actual Slutet songs. also, in this version, the basswork is more audible and clear. i guess some folks may get irritated by that snare, but it is exactly that snare which captivates me to return to this version again and again it sounds even more unhinged, aggressive, ferocious and psychotic than the original work. also it has a slightly different track list and titles. but it is the same album fundamentally; another vision of it, if you will. a stripped down version.
this should be seen as a curious complement to the full-length. it has the same status as “Summer Night Rehearsal” as “album appendixes”, or even more practically: bonus material to the full-length. The LP is still the main feature. this is listed as a demo release in the TEC discography because i do not think this release warrants a “full-length LP” label. the original 2020 LP release of “Love & Beauty” is by all means the official release and version of this cursed recording. the original is darker and more atmospheric, while i find this one to be angrier and more relentless.
