the beginnings of this weird thing was my short and problematic incursion into academia (lasting about 4 months), attempting to study the ancient near east – a subject i cultivated interest in during my mid-late teens. after i dropped out i was miserable and happened to have an old synth in my room, an old 80’s synth i got from my grandparents. i also had boredom, drugs and an youthful obsession with the ancient near east (mesopotamian, anatolian, levantine/phoenician, ugaritic, elamite, etc). i still listen to this stuff, it has personal value, it is fun. it is obviously painfully sloppy, such a shit piece of improvisations really, full of clumsiness, mishaps and amateurship but nevertheless, it holds a certain charm for me personally. it was made during warmer months of 2015, recorded on an iPhone and edited with Audacity.
